The Brights Zoo Wildlife Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the animals that call Brights Zoo home while advancing wildlife conservation around the world.
Brights Zoo began as a family-owned organization in Limestone, Tennessee. Today, the zoo is home to more than 1,000 animals representing 126 species and spans 103 acres in Northeast Tennessee.
Caring for such a diverse collection requires an extraordinary commitment. Brights Zoo employs 16 full-time animal care professionals and approximately 30 team members overall, all working together to provide exceptional care for the animals entrusted to us.
Every species has unique nutritional needs. Working with our veterinary team, specialized diets are developed to meet those needs, from fresh produce and browse to species-specific feeds and supplements. Each year, Brights Zoo invests more than $1 million in animal nutrition alone.
But our mission has always extended beyond caring for animals.
We believe meaningful conservation begins when people develop a personal connection with wildlife. Through keeper talks, animal feedings, educational programs, and private animal encounters, Brights Zoo gives guests opportunities to learn about animals in ways that are personal, memorable, and inspiring.
The Brights Zoo Wildlife Foundation was created to build upon that mission—supporting exceptional animal care, strengthening conservation efforts, expanding educational opportunities, and helping protect wildlife for generations to come.
